Next year’s Danish final, the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, will be held in Ballerup close to Copenhagen. The arena that is mainly used for handball and indoor cycling will be able to feature 6500 spectators for the show in February next year. Ticketssale will start in just 5 days.
The Danish final that will take place on the 26th of February will have ten acts competing to represent Denmark at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in neighbour country Germany. Six of the acts will be chosen among the 663 submitted songs while the remaining four places will be given to specially invited songwriters.
It is the first time since 2002 the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix will be held near the capital as it had rather become a tradition always to place it in Copenhagen. Just as in the previous year’s the host city will become a socalled Grand Prix city with the whole city being involved in the event offering a week full of arrangements for participants as well as fans and journalists.
