Jade Ewen was born on the 24th of January, 1988 in London to parents who are both visually and aurally impaired. Extraordinarily enough, even though she has functioned as a full time carer for both parents, the dedicated young girl managed to obtain a scholarship to the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School. From then there was no stopping her, and by the age of twelve, she had already had small roles in numerous popular TV shows on British TV such as The Bill and Casualty and got her first taste for stage life when auditioning for a role in The Lion King in London’s West End.
The multi talented songstress’ acting career developed further when she starred in the Australian series Out There from 2003-2004. Music would however soon take a more prominent place in her career when she joined the girl group Trinity Stone in 2005. The band was however shortlived, going their separate ways in 2007. She released her first solo single Got You in 2008, with little success. Jade also found time to hone in on her songwriting skills, writing material for acts Booty Luv and Jessica Mauboy. She has since released 2 other singles, It’s My Time and My Man, achieving #27 and #35 on the UK charts respectively.
In autumn 2009 following her triumphant success at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, it was announced that Jade would be joining the girl supergroup Sugababes, replacing former member Keisha Buchanan. Due to this career development, all work on her first solo album was put on hold. Besides featuring as vocalist in the Sugababes, Jade has also enjoyed success as a model, having been selected as the face for the Miss Ultimo Lingerie range in the UK.
