Koza Mostra is a band consisting of six members: Ilias Kozas on vocals, Alexis Arhontis on drums, Stelios Siomos on guitar, Dimitris Christonis on bass, Christos Kalaintzopoulos on accordion and Vasilis Nalmpantis plays the trumpet. The band was formed in 2011. Their first single, Me Trela, was released in 2012, and was followed by three other singles: Desire, Tora/Me Trela and their latest release, Alcohol is Free. 2013 was a milestone in the history of the band, as apart from being selected as the Greek entrant for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, 2013 also saw the release of their debut album, Keep Up The Rhythm in March.
The band will be performing Alcohol is Free together with Agathonas Iakovidis, who was born in Evangelismos in 1955 to parents who were refugees from Asia Minor. He is a self taught singer who made his professional debut early in the 1970’s on the Thessaloniki music scene. His first album appeared in 1977. He relocated to Athens at the beginning of the 1980’s, opening many doors for him in terms of collaborations. Throughout his career, Iakovidis has concentrated on the traditional Greek rembetiko style of music. He has performed across the globe, giving concerts in Australia, the US and Europe. During the course of his extensive career, Iakovidis has released an impressive fifteen albums.
