2009: Krassimir Avramov - Illusion

Krassimir Avramov (Красимир Аврамов) was born in Sliven om the 5th of November, 1972. He first came to the attention of a wider audience at the age of nine, when he became known for his skills in the art of mime and performed extensively throughout Eastern Euope. Bitten by the bug, Krassimir discovered a new talent, his voice, and was taken under the wing of renowned opera star and vocal coach Panka Gekova. His first album was released in 1998, entitled Silent Voices, which became a major hit in Bulgaria, topping the charts.

The singer is something as rare as a male soprano, possessing an impressive four octave range, which he has used to mezmerise audiences around Europe. He has been heaped with praise for his unique and characteristic voice and his constant quest for new challenges took him stateside, to Los Angeles in 1999. His dreams of fame and fortune failed to materialize there, so he took odd jobs to keep things moving. Gradually, he began to build up a following, by performing at private functions, impressing even the likes of Lionel Richie.

While in California, Krassimir began training with the internationally known vocal coach Kay Montgomery. His voice was discovered once more this time by producer William Tabanou, who has previously worked with the likes of Avril Lavigne and Coolio. Their cooperation led to the recording of the album Popera, with a sound that is described as something between Enigma and Sarah Brightman. Whilst in the USA, Krassimir has had the opportunity to appear on a number of prime time TV shows, including Alias, The Agency and America’s Most Wanted. also lending his voice to films and commercials. In fact, it was Popera that brought Krassimir to the 2005 L.A. Music Awards, where he won Superstar of the Year, an award previously won by the likes of Gwen Stefani and the Black Eyed Peas.
