Hersi Matmuja is 24 years old. She has taken part in many music festivals even as a child. She participated in the Çelësi i Artë contest in Albania and Ylberi in FYR Macedonia. Hersi won the first prize there. Then she successfully won in the Children Festival of Shkodra with her song Zogu dhe djali and the festival of Ëndërra për muzikën. She also had a high position at the Ethet e së premtes tv talent show.
Hersi has also had great success in the classical music world where she is a trained lyric canto. She has also lived and studied classical music in Italy.
Hersi has participated five times at the Albanian national selection Festivali i Këngës. She finised in third place in 2012 with Kush ta dha këtë emër. Now Hersi will have the opportunity to represent her country at the Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen.
Hersi has also released several songs in Albania and had a hit and top video with Kthehu. She has also taken part in the popular Top Fest and Kënga Magjike festivals in Albania.
