Tijana Dapčević is a force to be reckoned with throughout the Balkan region. She was born on the 3rd of February, 1976 in Skopje into a musical family with mixed Macedonian and Serbian origins. Her musical adventure began by learning the cello aged just seven, eventually graduating from the faculty of music in Skopje. Playing the cello has taken her as far as Leipzig and Tijana has also performed in the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra.
Her recording career began to gather momentum in 1994, and since then she has enjoyed a string of pan Balkan hits, including Sve je isto, samo njega nema (All is the same, only he is not here) which featured Tijana singing in a multitude of balkan languages. She has released five studio albums during the course of her career, the latest being Muzika, released in 2010. Tijana is also au fait with music competitions, having won competitions in Montenegro and Serbia in 2002 and 2006 respectively. She is also no stranger to Eurovision, having previously tried her luck no fewer than three times in the national selection (1996, 2002 and 2005) and in the Serbia and Montenegro selection in 2006, Evropesma, where she placed eighth with the entry Greh (Sin).
Besides music, acting is the other great passion in Tijana’s life. She had a long term dream of playing a part either in a film or the theatre and her dream finally came true last year. She hopes to combine both her vocal and acting talents and set the stage alight in Copenhagen with her entry To The Sky.
