Sergej Ćetković was bron on the 8th of March, 1976 in Podgorica, Montenegro. His interest for music began at an early age, when he was aged just seven years old. He excelled at playing the piano at school and his dreams of stardom took their first tentative steps when he came second in the children’s music festival Our Joy in Podgorica aged just ten.
In the late 80’s his music career began to take shape when he joined the band Vatrena srca playing both piano and on vocals. He later went on to perform with the band Amphitheatre. Sergej entered the national Sunčane skale festival in 1998 with Bila si ruža (You were a rose), which led to him embarking on a solo career. The first of his five studio albums, Kristina, appeared in 2000, taking him in a new musical direction and which proved to be a huge commercial success.
Some of his major hits include Postojim i ja, which he was awarded the best arrangement prize for following his perfomance at the 2003 Budanski festival and Pogledi u tami which was a major hit throughout the balkan region. Four other studio albums followed, the latest of which, 2 Minuta appeared in 2010. Sergej is no stranger to Eurovision; he has previously attempted to enter, performing in the Serbia & Montenegro selection in 2004, placing eighth with Ne mogu da ti oprostim.
