Maria Chiara Fraschetta, stage name: Nina Zilli is not only a talented singer but she writes her own songs also. Zilli debuted in Sanremo Music Festival 2010 (a year before Italy returned to the Eurovision Song Contest) with her entry L’Uomo Che Amava Le Donne. Although she did not win, she won several awards including Best Live Performance.
Zilli became popular in Italy after releasing her debut album in collaboration with Universal Music along with her debut single 50 Mila. She reached #54 on the Italian albums chart and later released singles L’inferno and L’amore verrà (an Italian cover of The Supremes’ hit You Can’t Hurry Love).
In 2012, Zilli decided to participate in Sanremo Music Festival once again just before the release of her second album L’amore è femmina, where she placed 7th and was later chosen to sing for Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012.
