Kuunkuiskaajat consists of Susan Aho and Johanna Virtanen. Susan Aho (36) is a puppeteer who works at the Nukketeatteri Sampo, known for mixing puppet shows with music and poetry. She attended different groups like Värttinä, Metsänväki and Rotunaise. She lives in Espoo, Southern Finland, but she also has Romany roots. Aho started playing accordion when she was 18. She got her Master of Music degree at the Sibelius Academy Folk Music Department.
Johanna Virtanen (33) studies music at the Central Ostrobothnian Conservatory in Kokkola. At the moment, she is still studying at the Sibelius Academy. Like her Kuunkuiskaajat partner Susan Aho, Johanna aims to get her Master of Music degree. Virtanen is a professional vocal coach for children and can play harmonium, kantele and 2-row accordion.
Both Susan and Johanna travelled around the world as group members of Värttinä. The group composed the music for The Lord Of The Rings theatrical adaptation.
