2009: Andrea Demirović - Just Get Out of My Life

Andrea Demirović is a promising young singer, born on the 17th of June, 1985 in Titograd, Montenegro. Ms Demirović is classically trained, having studied the piano at the Music School in Bar before movig to Kotor at 15 in order to complete her studies at Music High School, majoring in solo singing. Andrea is presently studying at the Music Academy in Cetinje, specializing in music pedagogy.

Her breakthough onto the music scene came in 2002, when she participated at the Suncane Skale festival in the sleepy resort of Herceg-Novi. Her appearance acted as a springboard, taking her to other former Yugoslav republics, namely Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina, giving her much needed exposure. The festival organisers were in fact so impressed with Andrea, that she was invited back to the Suncane Skale festival for another appearance, where she performed two of her hits, Šta Će Mi Dani and Planina.

A whole four years would pass before her debut self-titled album was brought out, although she’d spent two years working on the material for it. The album was quite a coup for Andrea, as she had none other at the helm of the project than Vesna Pisarović (Croatia 2002), one of the most popular artists in the Balkan region. Pisarović was the principal contributor to the album, however Andrea penned one of the tracks herself.

Further interest from record companies ensued, which resulted in Andrea being offered the chance to record a duet with italian singer Massimo Bertacci. The duet attracted even more interest, this time from Spain in the guise of Rafael Artesero and José Juan Santana Rodriguez, a couple of succesful songwriters. This resulted in the recording of three songs: La Reina De La Noche (a cover of the song performed by Mirela at the Misión Eurovision 2007) And Now and Ley Ley Le all of which are to be included on her newest album, the release date of which is still to be confirmed.
