Blond haired, blue eyed beauty Alonya Lanskaya was born on the 7th of September in the city of Mogilev, Eastern Belarus. Encouraged by her family from a young age, music became increasingly important for her. Her interest took her down the familiar paths, such as singing in the school choir, forming groups during her formative years. She completed her education, graduating from the University in her home town.
Her first steps towards a professional music career came back in 2005, when she participated in the Slavianski Bazaar music festival held in Vitebsk. Giving her a taste for more, she persisted in following her dream which would also gain her exposure abroad, when she took part in an international music festival in Dobrich, Bulgaria. She continued working hard at achieving her ambitions, and in 2010, her debut album Mazes of Love saw the light of day. Her debut was a mixture of songs in both Belarussian, Russian and English and her appetite for success grew even further, taking her farther afield to the USA, where she returned home triumphant as winner of the Atlantic Breeze 2010 festival. The following year, her career culminated in her first personal triumph, when the title of Honoured Artist of the Republic of Belarus was bestowed upon her – she is the youngest artist to ever receive this accolade.
Ms Lanskaya is a bona fide superstar in her native Belarus, and so her participation in the 2012 Eurofest national selection was met with immense public interest. She entered with a song called All My Life, which initially won her the right to represent her country i Baku. Her success however soon was emersed in controversy, as accusations of rigged voting became the subject of an investigation launched by none other than the Belorussian president. The accusations promptly transpired to be true, and so Alonya was stripped of the title, and the task of representing Belarus in Azerbaijan at the 2012 contest was then handed over to Litesound. She is currently in the process of recording and finishing English language material for her follow up album.
