Poland’s Ich Troje loses another female lead singer?

Marta Milan joined Ich Troje in 2013

Marta Milan, Ich Troje’s most recent female lead singer, has allegedly left the group. Ich Troje represented Poland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2003 and 2006 but, for all their commercial success, seem to have found it hard to make a female singer stick around for too long…

Indeed, for a group whose name translates into English as ‘The Three of Them’, Ich Troje’s frequent changes when it comes to band members has meant that they are often not ‘three’ and that ‘them’ can refer to different people at different points in the group’s history.

Marta Milan had joined the group in 2013. After her departure, it would appear that ‘Ich Dowje’ (The Two of Them) might be a more suitable name for the group. Only singer/songwriter Michał Wiśniewski and pianist/composer Jacek Łągwa show clearly on the latest promotional poster for the group’s upcoming Krakow concert. On the same poster, the back of a female figure that might or might not be Marta Milan can be seen in the background, which could be taken as a discreet way of handling publicly the current lineup situation.

Ich Troje currently appears to be a two-member lineup consisting of Michał Wiśniewski and Jacek Łągwa

It would appear that Marta joins a long list of ex-Ich Troje female singers that includes Magdalena Pokora (a.k.a. Magda Femme, Michał Wiśniewski’s former wife, 1996–2000), Justyna Majkowska (2000–2003), Elli Mücke (2003), Ania Wisniewska (another of Michał Wiśniewski’s former wives, née Świątczak, 2003–2010), Jeanette Vik (2010 – 2011) and Jazzta (Justyna Panfilewicz, 2011-2013)

In 2003, Ich Troje had represented Poland with Justyna Majkowska, finishing in a satisfying seventh place in Riga. The same year, the group, who often mix languages in their songs, had also taken part in the German national final with German singer Elli Mücke.

In Athens 2006, there was somewhat of a reunion going on for the group as they represented their country with a lineup that, apart from the two regular male members, also included Magdalena Pokora, Justyna Maikowska και Ania Wiśniewska. Also joined by O-Jay of  eurodance group Real McCoy, the group failed to make it to the Grand Final, finishing in eleventh place at the semi-final stage of the contest.

Ich Troje have allegedly enjoyed long-lasting commercial success in Poland and neighbouring countries. EuroVisionary would like to wish them good fortune in finding a new female lead singer!

In the following videos, you can watch Ich Troje performing 2003’s Keine Grenzen – Żadnych Granic (No Borders) and 2006’s Follow My Heart while representing Poland at Eurovision in Riga and Athens respectively.
