Donny Montell the Lithuanian representative at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest will try to return to the contest after three years. Today he released the song with which he takes part in the Litnuanian national selection Eurovision Atranka 2016. The song is titled I’ve Been Waiting For This Night.
Donny Montell loved the Eurovision experience back in 2012 in Baku when he represented his country with the song Love is Blind and ended 14th. Since then he wanted to do it again, was waiting for the right song which might just be the one he is now competing with.
Shortly after Eurovision I had the thoughts to come back, but I wanted to wait for the right song. It took 3 years but now I have it, it’s safe on my computer
Donny submitted his entry to the Lithuanian broadcaster LRT last week. LRT closed the submissions process on December 1st. According to new rules of the Lithuanian National Final, the participants are allowed to present the same song during the whole show, something which wasn’t allowed before.
The song and the videoclip of Donny Montell entry titled I’ve Been Waiting For This Night was recorded in Stockholm with Swedish musicians Jonas Thander and Beatrice Robertsson.
