The Albanian national broadcaster, RTSH, have revealed the participants forthe 54th edition of Festivali i Këngës. A total of 30 acts, including two former Eurovision participants, have made it to the shows, which will be held in the Christmas days in December.
As usual the national selection of Albania, Festivali i Këngës, is a three day show held in December. The two semi-finals will take place on the 25th and the 26th of December, and the final the day after, on the 27th of December.

The list includes two former Albanian Eurovision entrants; Luiz Ejlli (2006) and Adrian Lulgjuraj (2013). Also, various former participants of Festivali i Këngës are back for another go. The winner of this year’s edition will represent Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016, held in Stockholm, Sweden. The winner of last year’s Festivali i Këngës was Elhaida Dani with the song Diell. Although Elhaida won with that song, for Eurovision she changed it and performed the song I’m Alive.
Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest
Albania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 12 times since its debut in 2004. Festivali i Këngës is the method RTSH has used to select the Albanian entry every year since their debut. Their best result until now is a 5th place, gained in 2012 with Rona Nishliu and the song Suus.
