Malta will be performing 5th in the upcoming Second Semi Final this Thursday. The country is represented by Amber with the song Warrior. Are there any changes since the country’s first rehearsal? What is the impression left by the song amongst the other entries in the running order? We try to answer your questions reporting live from inside the hall of Wiener Stadthalle.
Amber looks and sounds better today. Her long hair fall loosely on her shoulders in thick curls in quite a Paparizou-esque fashion (think Greece 2015). Amber plays well to the camera and stands her ground in terms of confidence. What is more, she looks as if she is enjoying singing her song. As I pay more attention during the second run of the song, I realise that the forceful beginning of its phrase of the chorus still sounds a bit strained and croaky sometimes (but not always). The presentation is not bad at all but the song does not create quite the change of mood that Montenegro seemed to achieve just earlier. A few people clap inside the press centre after each run. Not a safe bet in terms of qualification but not out of the question either.
