Austria will be performing straight into the grand final this Saturday. The country is represented by The Makemakes with the song I Am Yours. Are there any changes since the country’s first rehearsal? Does it look is if they are in with a chance for a good result? We try to answer your questions reporting live from inside the hall of Wiener Stadthalle.
Like Italy, Austria initially gives the impression that the delegation have opted for a simple, clean-cut presentation. This appears to be putting the emphasis on the song and the singing. This morning, the piano is not set on fire as was the case during Austria’s first stage rehearsal – this might be due to the associated cost of this gimmick and we could still get to see it in the final. The styling of the performers themselves may not be everyone’s cup of tea but the presentation otherwise feels quite solid. Due to it being the host country, Austria is the only entry rehearsing this morning for which we know the position it will be performing from in the final – Austria will be 14th in the running order and thus in the first part of the second half of the show. I think that Austria’s luck in the final will greatly depend on which are the countries that precede and follow it.
