Cyprus 2019: Tamta’s entry Replay released

“Replay” is a modern, contemporary and well produced upbeat song that includes the vibes that overwhelmingly remind of Cyprus’ entry from last year. Today, Cypriot broadcaster CyBC released their 2019 Eurovision entry.

Last year Cyprus came very close to win the Eurovision Song Contest for the very first time as Eleni Foureira finished 2nd in Lisbon with the catchy dance song Fuego. Following this great result, expectations to this year’s Cypriot representative among fans and medias were pretty high. The artist, who the Cypriot broadcaster picked last December to take up the torch carried by Eleni is 38-years-old Tamta. The title of the song she is going to perform in Tel Aviv is Replay.

Who is Tamta

Tamta’s real name is Tamta Goduadze. She was born and raised in Georgia. At the age of 21, she moved to Greece and took part in the talent show “Super Idol” finishing second. So far ,Tamta has released four studio albums and with many top ten hits she is definitely one of the biggest name on the Greek pop scene.

Back in 2007 she participated in the Greek national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing 3rd with the song With Love. Apart from singing, Tamta has also been a mentor on “X Factor Georgia” in 2014 and “X Factor Greece” in 2016. She also starred in musicals such as “Rent” and “Cabaret”.

The team behind Replay

Replay is written and composed by Alexander “Alex P” Papaconstantinou. He was assisted by Sweden-based songwriters Teddy Skye, Viktor Svensson, Kristoffer “Bonn” Fogelmark and Albin Nedler. Alex P is a Greek-Swedish songwriter and music producer, who has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest several times before as a co-songwriter. Back in 2007, he came 7th with the song Yassou Maria which represented Greece. In 2009 he was involved in Azerbaijan’s entry Always, which finished 3rd. In 2012 Alex P co-wrote the Cypriot entry La La Love, which came 16th. His best attempt was Fuego, runner-up from last year.

Lyrics for Replay

[Verse 1]

You’ve got a problem, 2AM I’m in your head

Let’s just be honest tonight

Only I can solve it

You’re twisting, turning in your bed

Them sheets need my body tonight

[Pre-Chorus]

That’s when you call me, that’s when you call me

Say you’re feeling lonely

Early in the morning, early in the morning

Time is moving slowly

We keep it undercover

I know you miss the taste

My heart beats like an 808

[Chorus]

You need my love on replay

Replay, replay, replay, yeah

You need my love on replay

Replay, replay, replay, yeah

[Verse 2]

You’re stuck on me darlin’

Like a love song on repeat

Yeah, you’ve got a problem, alright

And I know I’m the one to blame

Because I make you scream my name

And baby, I’m all in tonight

[Pre-Chorus]

That’s when you call me, that’s when you call me

Say you’re feeling lonely

Early in the morning, early in the morning

Time is moving slowly

We keep it undercover

I know you miss the taste

My heart beats like an 808

[Chorus]

You need my love on replay

Replay, replay, replay, yeah

You need my love on replay

Replay, replay, replay, yeah
