Dewayne Barkley
- From United States
- Speaks English, German, Russian
- Responsibility Photographer
My name is Dewayne Barkley. I was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi and went to Pascagoula High School there, graduating in 1989. After that I lived in Mobile, Alabama until moving to Berlin, Germany in 1997. I have an identical twin brother and also an older brother.
I have followed Eurovision since 1998, when I first moved to Germany. My then boyfriend brought me to the German preselection, where Guildo Horn won (which I found the most awful song on the planet). My first live Eurovision was 2015 in Vienna. I have since attended Stockholm and Kyiv. I also plan to continue to attend future Eurovision events, including preselections in various countries and fan events. The Berlin Eurovision fan group hosts a monthly Eurovision Karaoke event and the Eurovision Weekend every summer with star guests.
Photography has always been one of my biggest hobbies. My first 35mm camera was a Pentax A3000. I have invested heavily in digital equipment in the past three years, expanding on a regular basis as I learn more about what a „real photographer“ needs. So I was very happy when EuroVisionary asked me to contribute tot he website with my photos.
